Water is an extremely precious resource in Peru, particularly in the desert region where the luxury redefined cotton is grown. There is a natural but highly sophisticated system in place to make the most of every last drop of water that descends from the mountains each summer. Every farmer has a pre-allocated slot to draw a small amount water from the irrigation channel that passes by their land.
